2 Day Reef and Daintree Rainforest

Michaelmas Cay is a major natural seabird habitat and one of the most important in the Southern Hemisphere. It is home to at least 23 species of seabirds. Many breeds find this island an ideal nesting habitat and is one of the most significant bird sanctuaries on the Great Barrier Reef.

Departing Cairns with  5 hours spent exploring 2 spectacular and exclusive outer Great Barrier Reef locations for an adventure-filled day! Evolution caters to both dive beginners and certified divers. Scuba diving packages include full dive & safety briefing & specialised top-rated dive gear. Introductory divers are guided by a fully qualified dive instructor with a ratio of 4 divers per instructor. Certified divers can book a guided dive as an optional extra. Join us on the Semi-Submersible Coral Viewing Tour, learning about the reef with our marine biologist or adding a scenic helicopter flight over the reef for a Birds Eye view of this amazing icon. Enjoy a BBQ buffet lunch onboard. Finally, you'll cruise back to Cairns while enjoying a complimentary glass of wine and a snack while you reflect on your day on the Great Barrier Reef.​

Travel north  along the scenic road of the Great Barrier Reef Drive which takes you into the seaside town of Port Douglas. Here we capture a view from Flagstaff Hill Lookout across Four Mile Beach. Enjoy the commentary and scenic drive through the township and the CrystalBrook Superyacht Marina.

Arriving at the Lower Daintree for morning tea and then for a 1 hour Daintree River Cruise. An incredible experience of exploring the world heritage listed area by water surrounded by the most diverse mangrove systems in the world. Search for snakes, birds, frogs and the elusive saltwater crocodile.

Enjoy a restaurant quality meal for lunch at the Daintree Teahouse inclusive of tropical fruit tastings, juice and Daintree tea & coffee surrounded by the lush tropical rainforest. We take a scenic drive through the Lower Daintree into Daintree Village before arriving at Mossman Gorge for the experience of the ancient rainforest UNESCO World Heritage Daintree.

At the Mossman Gorge Cultural center embrace the culture of the traditional people Kuku Yalanji and explore the art gallery. Your guide leads you on a journey discovering the ancient rainforests ecosystem and its unique biodiverstiy. Traversing deeper into the rainforest explore the array of birdlife, flora and fauna learning about the different species, bush foods and medicine in the rainforest. Immerse into the pristine waters of the gorge for a refreshing swim in the oldest rainforest on planet earth.

We stop at Rex’s lookout for a scenic view enjoying the afternoon sun and cool sea breeze off the Coral Sea. Our final destination at Palm Cove is a chance to stretch your legs on an afternoon stroll out on the Palm Cove Jetty for a lovely afternoon photo and scenic drive along the esplanade before returning back to Cairns.
